National Indigenous Peoples Day

National Indigenous Peoples Day is celebrated today to recognize and acknowledge the valuable contribution of Indigenous Peoples to the healthy development of our communities, territory and country.   The Government of Canada announced its intention to rename this day National Indigenous Peoples Day, and the 2018 summer solstice will mark a move forward and together in the spirit of reconciliation.

For over 30 years The Tuccaro Inc. Group of Companies has been 100% Aboriginal owned, providing employment opportunities for Aboriginals at every educational and skill level.

Be sure to join our community at the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebrations at Heritage Village from 11-2pm today, the festivities will include a grand entry, a blessing, dignitary greetings, story time with an Elder, lunch, and live performances. This event is open to the public, and schools are invited to bring their students for the day, as well!
